Transportation & Sustainability

tps@midcitywest.org

The Transportation and Sustainability Committee is an advocate for our neighborhood and our stakeholders on transportation issues with the City of Los Angeles and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro). We are passionate about making it safe and efficient to get around town whether you’re on foot, on a bike, use a mobility device, on a scooter, take transit, or drive a car.

We address issues related to sustainability including reducing our neighborhood’s carbon footprint, enhancing our tree canopy, encouraging reuse and recycling, fighting for environmental justice, and advocating for other ways to make our presence friendlier to the Earth.

The committee generally meets on the third Wednesday of the month at 7pm. Please check specific calendar events to determine if meetings will be in person or virtual.

Mid City West Bicycle Friendly Street Proposal

Our committee created a proposal which outlines specific recommendations for the implementation of two bicycle friendly street corridors through the Mid City West neighborhood. The proposal has since been approved by the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) as of September 24, 2015 and will have approximately $1.8 million in funding and about $483,000 in matching funds from the City of Los Angeles.
