In November 2022 LA voters will elect a new State Assembly person. On the ballot will be candidates Rick Chavez Zbur and Louis Abramson. This forum, hosted by Dre Guttag, captures both candidates speaking about homelessness, climate change, affordable housing, healthcare, gun control, the economy, and more.
March 9, 2022 City Council District 5 Candidate Forum
With Paul Koretz termed out, the Los Angeles City Council District 5 seat will be filled by a new face starting in 2023. The Mid City West Neighborhood Council in Los Angeles, California hosted a 90 minutes forum with all six of the candidates vying for the seat: Molly Basler, Scott Epstein, Sam Yebri, Jimmy Biblarz, Katy Young Yaroslavsky, and Kristina Irwin.
Amongst other issues, the candidates spoke about crime, homelessness, the housing shortage, issues of social justice, the environment, and the controversial potential recall of city DA George Gascon.
The forum was hosted by Dre Guttag, chair of Mid City West's Outreach and Civic Engagement Committee.
