Weekend Parking Becomes Easier on West Third Street*

November 30, 2009
Parking has become a little easier on West Third Street, just in time for the holiday season.  The West Third Street Business Association, in cooperation with the office of Councilmember Paul Koretz, has implemented a weekend community valet program.  For a fee of $3.50, visitors to West Third Street businesses can drop off their car at one of 4 valet stands, and retrieve their car from any stand.  This differs from traditional valets, which serve a single businesses and require drop off and pick up at the same location.  By making it convenient to park, the program aims to boost local businesses and reduce parking and traffic impacts on nearby residential neighborhoods.  The Mid City West Community Council will be evaluating the program and we welcome stakeholder comments and input on how the program is working.
