Spend your Saturday evenings with world-renowned artists as they play everything from Indigenous works to the latest sounds from Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Mexico, Peru, and Los Angeles! Latin Sounds is presented Saturday evenings from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Soul Sauce derives from the album of the same name by Latin-jazz legend and vibist Cal Tjader. This Los Angeles–based collective recreates the exact musical arrangements Tjader wrote and recorded for today’s audience. From original hits such as “Soul Sauce (wachi-wara)” to versions of jazz standards like “Speak Low,” this band fuses Afro-Cuban and Brazilian rhythms with modern jazz classics.
