Board Member Seat Vacancy – Zone 1 Representative

Calling all Mid City West stakeholders:

Our board has a vacancy for the Zone 1 Representative board seat.

If you live, work, own real property within the borders of Zone 1, or have a stake in the neighborhood as a community interest stakeholder (defined as a person who affirms a substantial and ongoing participation within the neighborhood council’s boundaries and who may be in a community organization such as, but not limited to, educational, non-profit and/or religious organizations) in that zone, you are eligible!

The boundaries of Zone 1 are defined by the bylaws as:

“Begins at the southern boundary of West Hollywood where it intersects with Fairfax Avenue, running westerly along the southern boundary of West Hollywood until it meets Rosewood Avenue, continuing easterly along Rosewood Avenue to Fairfax Avenue, and then running northerly along Fairfax Avenue to the southern boundary of West Hollywood.”

“Zone 1” is dark purple on the map below (click on the menu on the top left corner, select “Zone 1”, and zoom in for more detail):

The current board will vote to select an eligible stakeholder to fill the vacancy at the next regular board meeting.  All candidates will have an opportunity to present to the board and are encouraged to notify the chair, Scott Epstein, of your intent to run in advance of the board meeting.  All interested candidates must attend the board meeting to be eligible.

Successful board members must complete all ethics, funding and code of conduct training required by the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment.
